Dedication and Ribbon Cutting of New Fire Station

The City Of Seymour held an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony of its new fire station on Saturday, April 18, 2009. The open house began at 10:00 A.M. and ended at 1:00 P.M. The formal ribbon cutting and dedication was at 11:00. The station is located at 124 E. Clinton Ave. which is one block east of Casey’s General Store.

Firefighters were on hand to provide tours of the new station as-well-as the fire truck and equipment purchased the past year to upgrade the city’s fire department.

Other public safety agencies were also invited to provide displays and information for those attending.

“The firefighters are very excited about the new station, the ten passenger fire truck, and all the new equipment the city council has provided over the past year. We want to show what the residents’ tax dollars are going for,” said Shawn Crump, city fire chief.

Seymour is located 30 minutes East of Springfield on U. S. Highway 60 where you are close enough to take in a Branson show or enjoy a weekend at the lakes, yet the Real Estate is still affordable. Seymour has achieved excellence in our schools. Residents have supported projects such as the new Library and the new YMCA. Citizens have voted to support the building of a new swimming pool. There is an excellent police force that knows the citizens and is involved in the community. We will be glad to show you around!

Seymour is progressive in developing new business. Everyone can look forward to affordable Real Estate, a cooperative city government, as well as low tax and utility rates. The door is open, so come and take a look at Seymour where your dollar goes further and the folks are friendly!

City Hall is pleased to announce the start of its monthly “Community Newsletter”.  We are very excited and hope it will be informative and helpful to the residents of Seymour.  We expect to be able to release a new installment each month and individuals will have the convenience of downloading it from our website or it is available at City Hall, the Library and the Police station.  We welcome any suggestions and feel the newsletter will only continue to improve with the help of Seymour’s wonderful citizens!

2008 Water Quality Report

The Water Quality Report will not be mailed, but will be available on request.

The City of Seymour Fire Department has received free smoke detectors from the Safety Council of the Ozarks. These smoke detectors are available to families, free of charge, with kids in the home under the age of 14. Contact the city of Seymour Fire Department at 417.935.2822 or by email seymourfd@seymourmissouri.org to set up an appointment to have them installed in your home. There are a limited number of smoke detectors available and we are unsure if we will be able to obtain more when they are gone.
