The vision for the ROCC began in its infancy when 29 members of the Seymour Nazarene Church took a Work and Witness trip to Gautier, Mississippi. There we found a hurting and needy people two years after Hurricane Katrina. We felt compassion upon their lives and wanted to help out in whatever manner the Lord would have for us to do so. After the trip came to an end, each of us had a burning desire to do more in our own region, and through much prayer and a vision of the Lord, our desires have become reality through the ministry of the ROCC.

God's vision and purpose is now reality with the ROCC (Regional Outreach Christian Center) opening its doors so as to reach a lost and dying world. And now today we are serving individuals, families, and communities and changing lives, one by one.

Our mission is to serve the community through quality programs that provide appropriate and relevant outreach services to meet identified needs of children, adults, senior citizens and families in an effort to develop self-reliant communities through the cooperative and united efforts of many service organizations.

Current programs include financial assistance with limited funding for immediate emergency assistance, life skill training, children’s day camp and café, comfort center for individuals to get out of the heat or cold, back to school outreach program, tornado shelter, disaster shelter and training center for the American Red Cross, assistance given to families of fires and disasters through our Disaster Action Team members working through the American Red Cross, 5K run/walk in the fall to raise funds for Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets for families in need and facility rental for weddings, parties, reunions or other occasions needing space.

Affiliated agencies that we work through are local churches, The Salvation Army, the American Red Cross, Webster County Long Term Recovery Committee, Wheels for the World, FEMA and SEMA, Angel Food Ministries and the Kings Food Pantry. Through our affiliation with each of the above listed agencies, the ROCC can connect the people in our outreach area with the resources needed.

The ROCC is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 corporation, located at 437 North Main Street. Office hours are 9:00am -1:00pm, Monday through Friday. Phone # 417-935-9111. Find us on the web at www.therocconline.com.
